Le Château de Vincennes
About two weeks ago was the first Sunday in a long long time that I wasn’t hungover so I took that opportunity to ACTUALLY go to the Muse event at the Le Château de Vincennes. It wasn’t that great, but at least I got credit for it. The funny thing about these tours (for me anyway) is that if there is a tour guide, I find it super hard to listen and therefore barely learn anything; and...

The Worst Part of Exchange...
I just had to say goodbye to my dog at home via skype. He’s 15 this year and my parents say he’s not in good shape anymore so it would be better to let him go rather than for him to suffer. I guess they are right. But he’s my puppy. I got him when I was 7 years old. One day I came home from grade two and my parents said they had a surprise for me. I couldn’t guess what...

Broke as a Joke.
So I’m officially broke. I have about 760 Canadian Dollars left in my account. Only 33 more days until I get the rest of my student loan. At this point I’m glad they didn’t give me the whole sum at once! But even still I’m wondering how am I going to survive with only 575euros for 35 days (500 of which I need for rent!!!) I’m gonna starve do death! At this point my...

Wine Tasting! (T.G.I.V)
Thank God its Vendredi! This past Friday Muse did a class on wine tasting. It cost 5euros but we got to try 3 different types of wine (Riesling, Chardonnay and Bordeaux). The class was held at MBA and hosted by students who are studying wine there. it was pretty cool. The MBA wine students taught us how to identify wines and learn about them with the four steps (look, smell, taste and...

Laura & Breanna Together Again!
Last weekend my bff Breanna came to stay for a few nights at my place. She was on her way to Milan for her exchange so it was only natural for her to stop by Paris and visit me :) I met her at Gare du Nord at 7pm on Saturday. It took me like 20 minutes to find the right place to go since the station is massive and I realized when I got there, I had no clue as to what train she was on or where I...

Aussie Day at the Crocodile Den + House Partayy
Australia Day. Tim & Drew hosted a party to celebrate their country’s bday (or something). No one knows what it’s for, just that everyone gets wasted on it. And we did. (Sorry Mom. All the note worthy events include drinking.)the invite stated that everyone had to wear something Aussie, or rep something from one’s own country to promote the spirit of Aussie day. All I had...

Ice Skating on the Eiffel Tower
Yesterday me, Eva, Maros, Julia, and Verena went Ice skating on the Eiffel tower! It was only like 4euro 20 cents to go up by foot and we climbed up all 300 or so steps to get to the 1st floor. It wasn’t even that bad :) maybe all this walking in Paris has made me more fit… (one can only hope) Ice Rink on the Eiffel Tower! Eva, Maros, and Verena Skating Backwards Our Hot Wine ...

Anonymous asked: How did you manage to take a picture of Mona Lisa?!

indierun asked: Heyhey..! It's really nice following your tumblr, because I've applied for an Erasmus in Paris as well. I have to learn french for my courses though. Did you have to learn french at INSEEC? If not - how's the english-knowledge among french students around you? I'm hoping it's improved the recent years :)

Integration Weekend
aka drunk on a bus weekend. Party Bag So this past weekend the Erasmus World Exchange crew organized a trip to the “west coast” of France for all the exchange students. we met at the school at 630 as we were supposed to leave “at 7pm sharp”. however, due to typical french manner, we left at quarter to 8. maybe it was cause all the World Exchange people were wasted...

Mostly About Food.
This weekend we didn’t do much. I went to the Eiffel Tower with Renate and Monika. They wanted to take pictures around the city, so I went purely for something to do. It brought back many memories of the last time being here with Taylor and Bre and Jess and the rest of the Contiki crew :) But I got bored fast since I’ve already been there so I left them and went home....

First Day of School
Today was my first day of classes. I had to get up at 6am to get to the MBA campus by 830. the metro ride is ridiculously long. But I made it with 20 mins to spare. Thank God Eva was in my Tourism and Sustainable Development class because I got shy and didn’t talk to anyone when I got there lol. such a loner. At least I have her :) So when we signed up for the classes I specifically made...

Getting Settled
Nothing too exciting has happened this past week or so. Just been hanging out and going out with the group. Last weekend we all went to see Drive at some theater near the Moulin Rouge; it was alright, but really gruesome. Monday I went to Sacre Coeur with Rok. we climbed up all the stairs and just sat and looked at the view of Paris for a while. the sun was peeking out through the clouds so it was...

First Couple Days
So the last couple days have been good. Monika and I went to open a bank account. Thank God for her french friend Andrea that came to help us or we would have had no idea what we were signing! I also bought a phone, which cost me 65eu but I justified it with the knowledge that I’m supposed to get 80eu from the bank in June for opening the bank account. We also got our metro passes, paid...

Orientation
The day after I arrived the four of us went into the city for our orientation at the school. The agent said our loft was 30 mins from the school but it took us abut an hour to get there. good thing we left early. The organizer (Krista) was explaining all about the school and how the courses work. she told us that all the professors are actual business people working for firms in Paris and they...

Arriving in Paris
BONJOUR!! So I arrived in Paris on the third and didn’t really have any idea on how to get to my new house. I googled some directions but they were pretty vague and the Paris Metro system is quite complicated and definitely overwhelming. Ok so I’m at the airport carrying my overweight backpack and suitcase and my small backpack. (I wish I had a picture to post of how ridiculous it...

One Month Today...
I’m leaving to frieken Paris! Gotta start thinking about what to pack. I wanna bring way too many shoes. I’ve narrowed it down to about 9 but that’s still a lot. a lot a lot. almost wish I was going to some other place that’s not like the fashion capital of the world. Especially since I have no fashion sense, but whatever. I’ll figure it out. One month to goo!!! ...

Accomodation for Arrival Sorted :)
Woohoo! I finally have my accommodation sorted for when I arrive! I used hostelworld.com to find a hostel to stay at for the first few nights I’ll be in Paris. I considered couch surfing, but I feel like it might not be that safe. I keep thinking of that movie ‘taken’. and when I couch surfed in Australia, the people were kinda weird. So probably best to play it safe and spend...

So I'm Moving to Paris...!
I just found out this week that I got accepted into INSEEC Paris for the spring semester 2012; and therefore I’m moving to Paris! I’m freaking out basically. I don’t even know if I’ll have enough money and since I’m leaving in about SEVEN WEEKS!!!, there isn’t a lot of time to get everything ready. So much to do still. like #1 learn some french! I’m so...
